Hello online website browsers! My name is Holly Scott-Black (they/them), and I am a Toronto based painter, actor, musician, fibre artist & general crafty little creature.
This website is the space where I showcase my visual art pursuits. On here, you will find mostly paintings, mainly made with oil paint, and also some other stuff! My visual art practice is heavily inspired by the intricacies of everyday sights and objects. I am interested in the feeling a thing evokes when you look at it from a distance, and all the different feelings that same thing evokes when you look at its components close-up. I see these paintings as little worlds that I have given birth to. They are extrapolated from moments in my life, thoughts in my head, etc., but now exist as independent entities, alive in their own right.
